the wool studio
And bringing those treasures to light takes work and faith and focus and courage and hours of devotion, and the clock is ticking, and the world is spinning, and we simply do not have time anymore to think so small.
— Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic
Before the idea of opening a shop ever entered my mind, I craved space. Physical space, yes - which is how I ended up buying a vacant, semi-derelict building.* But also mental, emotional and creative space.
Starting Petrichor (the shop) is an adventure that snuck up on me. One that I’ve embraced. And I remain committed to why I started this multi-faceted project to begin with: to create a room of my own where, as Virginia Woolf describes it, there is: “No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” This page offers a window into the things I’m working on. The experiments I’m trying. The messes I’m making. Just because.

yarn studies - coming soon
This is where I post about the yarns I’m experimenting with & the projects I long to make with them.
This is where I keep track of what I’m knitting, spinning, carding, weaving, dyeing, blocking.
